I bought two of these and am NOT wasting your money. I used the right distilled water. They worked for about a week and then my son's room started leaking. like the whole tank on his floor was empty (it was on his dresser so it got wet too). I thought maybe it was an accident. It went on like this, and then mine began. Save your money and don't buy it!

Great product that looks great in our living room too! We heat primarily with a wood stove so our house gets very dry in winter so we use 2 Crane humidifiers in our house throughout the winter. We can maintain a humidity level of around 30% and without hydration it drops to around 10-15% which can lead to sinus infections. You won't get through the winter without our Crane humidifiers!

I have been using Crane humidifiers for over a decade and bought two of these models in April 2019. We turn them on when someone has a cold or the air seems very dry. In December 2019 one stopped working and today the other stopped working. I was able to find a video showing how to fix it and we got it working again, but I expect the product to work properly for at least a couple of years. I would not buy again.

I bought two of these 3 years ago. Emptying it several times a week and rinsing it before refilling it and cleaning it with white vinegar once a month will keep it really clean. After 2 years one started making noises. I finally decided to open it up, just wiped the fan down with a compressed gas rag (see photo for what it looked like when I opened it up) and everything was back to normal! Terrible humidifier! My bedside table is covered in water so I bought a stand to lift it off the bedside table and still the same problem. I bought a larger brand of one and the other for my living room and had no problem with it being damp all over. I ended up buying a second one for my room. This is my second Crane Teardrop Humidifier. I use it in my bedroom at night to keep my nose and sinuses from drying out, as well as my eyes. My house has forced air heating so it gets very dry in winter and I think using this humidifier makes a difference. I used to sometimes bleed from my nose because it got so dry, now I don't have that problem anymore. My bedroom is quite small, about 8ft by 12ft. I think for a larger room you might need a more powerful model. I like the mold with the spout
