Some markers don't quite match the color of the cap, especially the yellow. This is a constant problem with Crayola markers. I bought a smaller set from the store and encountered the same problem. Many colors are too close in hue without much variety. 2 purples are very dark. Would you like more color variety. However, this is a good price. I bought these for my adult coloring book and cannot recommend them for that. Maybe the kids don't mind.

Colors are vibrant, but I don't like two things: The dots aren't narrow enough to paint in small spaces. They're a little too wide. A few years ago I bought other Crayola markers that were perfect but I couldn't find them again. Also, the color on the cap does not indicate the color of the ink. The ink always comes out much darker. So if you paint skin tones and think you chose a very light skin tone marker, the face actually looks almost orange. A little disappointing.

I love the many colors in this box! Enough that you don't feel limited, and small enough that you don't feel overwhelmed by the resemblance. I will say that the colors listed on the back of the box are not very helpful in distinguishing greens - there are about 12 greens and they are not listed from lightest to darkest. They're listed in order of how much yellow or blue they are, but the shades vary wildly depending on how dark they are and don't seem to follow the order they were in the box…
