It keeps turning off!

This adapter is just terrible! Ever since I installed it I've had nothing but trouble. I thought Syba had decent quality products but I was wrong. After the installation only one port is actually connected. It turns out that both ports have the same MAC address! I've seen this before with cheap Chinese Bluetooth adapters, but never with a network card adapter. After I had manually assigned a different MAC to the 2nd port, I was able to transmit data in short packets with one or the other…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Sad device

GENERAL BRAND, NOT Syba. WORKS GREAT

I was disappointed to see that the Syba branded product I had purchased turned out to be a standard model of the same type of card. This does not inspire trust in the supplier. The card seems to be working fine and I was able to get updated drivers from the RealTek website. I have visually confirmed that these are the RTL8111E chips I was looking for. They support advanced features like jumbo frames and support for dedicated virtual machines. As it works great for my application on my system I…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick

  • Updates available

Excellent value for money in the Computers & Accessories category

This was exactly what I needed with a potentially big problem (I'll mention it in the cons ). I needed a dual-port Gigabit NIC that would fit in the ASRock Z87E-ITX's half-length mini PCIe slot. I am using this machine as a server running Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. The built-in Intel I217V is not technically compatible with Win Server, but by editing the information you can install it. This meant I never updated the driver as it would have been a pain. It worked fine, but I have a new…

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

200+ MB/s Multichannel Windows 10 SMB Ready!

The Syba PEX24041 board was just the ticket to get SMB Multichannel working on my new Ryzen PC. After installation, I: 1.) installed the latest drivers from Realtek2.) added "multichannel server support = yes" to smb.conf on my QNAP NAS*3.) restarted Samba on NAS4.) disabled onboard Ethernet * *5 . ) transferred multiple files at over 200MB/s.* This change will be overwritten on reboot but still needs to be sorted out.** When all three ports were connected, the transfer rate dropped to 175MB/s.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Replacement availability

Works great on my Windows 10 MSI PC

The network component of my MSI motherboard is not working, I replaced it with an external USB adapter but it was slow. I only had 1 PCI slot and it had a USB 3.0 adapter on it. This Syba card combines both features in one card. Installation was easy, I removed the USB stick and plugged in the new Syba board. When I restarted the computer, I found that the computer recognized and installed the card and everything worked. My connection speed has increased from 65 months to 115Mbps and all USB…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Crumpled

Easy install and Windows saw it right away but no internet issues

Didn't even need the driver CD that came with it. No problems with the network card port. The USB ports worked. I like this card because the USB ports are horizontal. I tried on two cases, there is no blocking! I tried another brand of NIC + USB card. This one had the USB ports mounted vertically, which blocked some of the ports - on both my Lain Li and the Factual design. Now my motherboards can last another year or two because I need to get the latest and greatest. My wife would be happy…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

4000) and it's PCIe 1

I had to return it because while I was able to get it to work with ESXi, it had two limitations that I couldn't solve. corrected. Its large packet support couldn't support 9000 (it was capped at 4000 for example) and it's a PCIe 1.0 AND 1x device, meaning it can't reach full performance. I believe the slot limited it to 1.5Gb/s while physically offering 2x1Gb/s full duplex. That means you can't transfer 2Gbps over a 1.5Gbps slot or 4Gbps over 3Gbps full duplex. Vib of a custom ESXi installer…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I'm worried about this one
