This product lacks quality. Sometimes plugs are difficult to remove from a screw. It breaks a lot of old plugs at the very bottom, indicating the screw isn't long enough.

Bought at the end of August. Less than 3 months later he stopped working altogether. We have 2 original threaded rods and one of them still works. Judging by the reviews, returning to the seller is almost impossible. I won't buy any other.

Looks solid so not a complete junk. Unfortunately it didn't work. He didn't open a bottle of wine smoothly and didn't unscrew the cork at all. I ordered from Revain so the box was opened beforehand which isn't usually a problem. I'm not sure if the product was defective to begin with or if something happened along the way. Anyway, I returned it. My friend tried it and said it was a "bad imitation" of his rabbit corkscrew.

We've had a more powerful version of the Screwpull for many years and it's been the best ever - easy to use, never broke any corks, worked flawlessly. After all, it broke a few weeks ago and couldn't be fixed. This new, less bulky version came when I ordered what I thought was a replacement. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is not the same corkscrew as the original professional Screwpull. I'm now considering whether to go with another brand. This corkscrew is easy to use and works well. The problem is that the "screw" part wears out. It goes from smooth Teflon to not smooth - and then the block doesn't work at all. I'm not sure if there is a replacement screw for this model. The only replacement parts advertised as La Creuset in Revain are $40 and are for a different model.
