Nothing like the old models

This product lacks quality. Sometimes plugs are difficult to remove from a screw. It breaks a lot of old plugs at the very bottom, indicating the screw isn't long enough.

Pros
  • Not fit for purpose
Cons
  • Neutral

DO NOT BUY! fits screw lever

Bought at the end of August. Less than 3 months later he stopped working altogether. We have 2 original threaded rods and one of them still works. Judging by the reviews, returning to the seller is almost impossible. I won't buy any other.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Weak set

Still looking for a great corkscrew

Looks solid so not a complete junk. Unfortunately it didn't work. He didn't open a bottle of wine smoothly and didn't unscrew the cork at all. I ordered from Revain so the box was opened beforehand which isn't usually a problem. I'm not sure if the product was defective to begin with or if something happened along the way. Anyway, I returned it. My friend tried it and said it was a "bad imitation" of his rabbit corkscrew.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Not the Screwpull I've loved for years

We've had a more powerful version of the Screwpull for many years and it's been the best ever - easy to use, never broke any corks, worked flawlessly. After all, it broke a few weeks ago and couldn't be fixed. This new, less bulky version came when I ordered what I thought was a replacement. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is not the same corkscrew as the original professional Screwpull. I'm now considering whether to go with another brand. This is normal, but the cork must be wiggled

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Not all will fit

$40 for replacement screws that wear out pretty quickly.

This corkscrew is easy to use and works well. The problem is that the "screw" part wears out. It goes from smooth Teflon to not smooth - and then the block doesn't work at all. I'm not sure if there is a replacement screw for this model. The only replacement parts advertised as La Creuset in Revain are $40 and are for a different model. My advice: buy another brand and choose a brand based on the availability/package of spare screws. The patent for this design expired a few years ago, so there…

Corkscrew does not open and close smoothly

Very disappointed with this opener. It "sticks" when the wine bottle is opened and you have to fight to close it again. I had to return the first one we received and that was a big problem for Revain as it was shipped by a third party. A very long story, but after several emails and phone calls, both Revain and CT Power Tools, a third party, refused to take responsibility for replacing this defective product. They said I needed to contact Le Creuset which I did and after a few contacts with Le…

what was i thinking

My wife gave me a Screwpull many years ago. I must have pulled over 2000 corks without changing the snail. Once I had a cork problem and I brutally forced it - so no more screwpull. I found that my wife paid [$$$] and that the rabbit (for half that price) got good press; So I made my second mistake. The rabbit started out fine, but the worm started sticking after a dozen plugs. Another problem: when the cork didn't come out easily, rabbit caught my fingers when I opened the cork. Fortunately…
