Versatile and excellent paper handling tool

I ordered the Crop A Dile 2 Big Bite because it was highly recommended by bookbinders and magazine makers. This tool allows you to punch 1/8" and 3/8" holes to install grommets and other decorative hardware. For different sizes and decorations, combination instructions are included on the instrument. It's very easy to set up. This hole punch is unique because it has a long reach that is great for binding books. The handle is ergonomic and can be easily lowered to fit grommets or holes. It isโ€ฆ

Great idea, poor quality control and execution.

As many other reviews have said, this really is the only way to get grommets deeper into projects without using a hand and a hammer. Everything is fine, as is the design. However, the quality really leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered one and the 3/16 punch got stuck on the hole it fits. Then I tried to install the loop. It looked terrible. I thought I just needed more practice. So I installed about 20 on several different materials of different thicknesses. They all looked like crap fromโ€ฆ

ATTENTION! Bad stuff ruined great idea of โ€‹โ€‹useful tool!

It is very difficult to align the tab so that it hits the center of the bottom/main square piece. Otherwise, the grommet will usually warp when installed, but worse, it damages the soft, low-grade plastic that surrounds the metal center, leaving "pits" for the grommets to snag and stick to. This happened during the first project which required 24 3/16" grommets and had some off-center "missing". The hole punch does not fit a large stock, it is impossible to use this hole punch. I gave upโ€ฆ
