The tool did what it was supposed to do. I slightly undermined the top bar where the top of the screw meets the bottom. This tool was definitely a good buy compared to the over the counter tool.

Bought a cheaper compressor on eBay but it didn't work. It just wouldn't fit. This device works flawlessly despite the fact that it looks identical (the dimensions are actually smaller). Thank you!

Get this tool if you want to make your life easier. This is not junk, I removed 6 rockers to route the timing chain with no problems. Prevents camshaft rotation due to valve train springs pressing against the camshaft lobes.

It's perfect for compressing springs and replacing rocker arms once you get the hang of it. However, if you want to remove the 4.6-3v lash adjusters you will need to remove the camshaft. I wasn't aware of that before buying. No problem as all my lash concealers were still good but FYI if you want to remove the last few you need something else.

A valve spring compressor is almost necessary to remove and install the Ford three-valve cam follower. If you're like me, you'll be intimidated by the price of "special tools," which are little more than a few pieces of formed metal, cost up to $100 (or more), and can only be used once. This was the cheapest deal I found when planning an F150 timing chain overhaul. The tool is well made and works great. Definitely worth the money to get the job done. 5 stars - although I might still cringe…
