Extremely disappointed with this toaster. Even at the highest level, it doesn't really "toast" it just makes warm bread. I like my toast a little darker and need to go through two cycles on setting #4 (out of 5) for it to brown. Why do well-known brand name toasters seem to be the most expensive and the worst?

This toaster has been in daily use for three years and has served us well. It's a budget device so I don't expect perfection, but this one comes pretty close.
