Rent this for toaster

Extremely disappointed with this toaster. Even at the highest level, it doesn't really "toast" it just makes warm bread. I like my toast a little darker and need to go through two cycles on setting #4 (out of 5) for it to brown. Why do well-known brand name toasters seem to be the most expensive and the worst?

Pros
  • Fits a lot of people
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Very glad I bought this toaster

Replaces the one that stopped browning. We like darker toasts and this new one has up to #6 in the settings. It is possible to insert frozen bread as there is an option to indicate that you are using frozen bread. What is important to me is that when the lever is pressed to start toasting, it is securely locked in place. Some toasters have failed in the past and had to be repressed. When the toast is done, you will hear a distinct click. The lever can be raised slightly to remove smaller…

Bagel button *NOT WORKING* Working perfectly

We purchased this item based on many good reviews. I'm sure it's a good toaster, but for those who use it to toast bagels, this might not be for you. My previous toaster only heated the inside of the bagel when you selected bagel mode. The first one I made was burned on top and I couldn't figure out why. I looked at the manual and their definition of this function is to increase the cooking time because the bagel is thicker. In fact, it says when you cook the bagel, make sure you adjust the…

It smelled horribly like burnt plastic

Just received this toaster.1. The cable does not go through the metal bracket on the bottom. Heat from the bottom of the toaster touching the cord can cause a fire.2. I plugged it in and turned it on on both sides. It gave off a terrible smell of burning plastic.3. I canceled both sides heating up. Then I accidentally touched the outside of the toaster. It was hot.4. Now I know why the instructions say not to put the toaster under a cupboard and unplug it after use. Other toasters do not have…

Excellent product, suitable for toaster

The toaster is very smooth and looks good. It looks great in a kitchen with stainless steel appliances. I'm giving 4 stars because as a selling point it says it even toasts every time, but not particularly with bagels (because nothing's perfect, which is what's expected) What I do for example: - looks amazing - bread hole size, it fits in easily an unevenly cut bagel - riser works great for small loaves like english muffins and toaster strudel - has lots of tiers for toasting, even between…

CUISINART BROWNOUT suitable for oven and toaster

ATTENTION! Thought I would upgrade my much cheaper Black and Decker 4 slice toaster which I had for 3 years before one side burned out. Went with this Cuisinart CPT180 recommended Revain. Above all, we want the bread to be toasted evenly compared to all other characteristics. Well this bread seemed fine for 2 months then stopped toasting evenly last week - now the inner element is running at about half the heat so one side of the toast is light and the other is darker. I called Cuisinart…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Best Toaster Based on Research

Cuisinart CPT-180 Metal Classic 4 Slice Brushed Stainless Steel Toaster is the best toaster I have found after researching Revain and other websites and stores like BestBuy and Bed, Bath & Beyond - First and foremost, it toasts the bread properly - evenly and without over-drying the bread. I also tried the Kenmore Elite 76774 4 Slice Auto Crack Toaster with Long Stainless Steel Slot but I returned it because it dried out the toast too much and it was huge and taking up a lot of countertop…

Ages 3 and up

This toaster has been in daily use for three years and has served us well. It's a budget device so I don't expect perfection, but this one comes pretty close. Bagel mode heats the entire bagel, not just the outside like other toasters with bagel settings. The reheat button comes in handy, especially when I'm on the go - which is a bit more common these days ;) There are a lot of toasters out there that claim they look retro, but this one is unique in its old-school feel. For the occasional…

Died six months later!

When I bought this toaster in May I was very happy with it. It toasted evenly and appeared to be a good toaster, if a bit pricey. Now six months later I am back to buy another toaster as this Cuisinart rose and died last Sunday morning. I put in two slices of toast and noticed a white flash in two of the slots as I pushed the lever to lower the bread. That white lightbulb was a dying heater. The two slots on the left side of the toaster now only toast one side of the bread. Since the return…
