Great water filter

This filter works great on my RV. We set up camp in a place with a high content of minerals in the well water. This filter has helped remove some of the metallic taste and color from our drinking water. When the water was filtered and filtered a second time for fridge water, there was no color taste at all.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Reliable and easy to use

I used these on my motorhome, I bought these for outside faucets connected to well or city water. Both are very high in calcium and well water, well, that's it. I use Camco holders installed next to each faucet. This helps keep our irrigation lines cleaner longer by unclogging pipes and sprinklers.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

I've tried hooking it up differently at different campsites.

Tried to connect in different ways on different campsites. But no matter where we put it, it will drop the water pressure dramatically. We decided to just remove it and take the chance to get a decent shower and not have to wait so long for other uses.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Very solidly made, great for my external pre-filter

I use it on my mobile home. I install a pre-filter in front of the water softener so all the water is clear of debris before entering the bus. Since I don't have room for a softener and additional filter in the water compartment, they are behind the door. The previous one was harder to open so I replaced it with this one. I love that it has a pressure release button at the top (the old one didn't have one). This one is also thicker and stronger so I expect it to last a lot longer. I throw a…

Pros
  • Useful for more than the intended purpose
Cons
  • Expensive

I wouldn't call it a RV filter

Custom sized inlet and outlet and very small internal diameter. Culligan has another much more RV friendly HF-150A. The inlet and outlet are 3/4 inch in diameter, which is what any RVer would want. Save a lot of time and money when looking for accessories. I like the 90 degree plastic elbow with the plastic quick couplers. Get some spare elbows. Less stress and the filter doesn't tip over as easily. Camco makes a good Short Pressure Protector out of lightweight plastic that you can use even…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Upgradeable

A must for DIYers!

Ideal for home brewers looking to purify their brew water. I've used this during several whole grain brewing sessions. I am very impressed with the results. I use this filter and also use Campden tablets to remove chlorine and other contaminants from tap water. Other reviewers who complain about leaks clearly don't know how to use teflon tape and barrel gel to prevent leaks.

Pros
  • Kitchen & Bath Accessories
Cons
  • Unsafe

No mention of the cartridge filter having a plastic liner

The installation instructions should state that you need to remove the internal filter cartridge and plastic liner. I was willing to send it back due to lack of water pressure when flushing as instructed. I took it apart to get as much water out as possible before sending it back to find the cartridge is wrapped in plastic which provides excellent water pressure when removed.

Pros
  • Replacement under sink water filter
Cons
  • Small parts
