Worked for my application

I was tired of loading hay in the truck so buying this cargo cart changed the world. I spent a lot of time looking for a suitable suitcase. I needed it to be light and strong. The price was right and the size was better than I expected as it didn't fit the overall width of my car. The best part is I don't have to take it off or lower it every time I need to open the back door - it cleans it. I painted it and added some reflectors. The best investment has been made. Now my car stays cleaner…

Bent after first use

Only negative at first - Slightly bent after 2100 miles round trip from Indiana to Florida and back. The cargo consisted of suitcases, duffel bags, etc. and weighed about 200 pounds. I wouldn't recommend much more weight because of the flex. Pros - It is a perfect match for the GMC Acadia with a factory hitch. It folds without touching the car anywhere, so there are no scratches or dents on the back of the car. It's lightweight so it's easy to put on and take off. Assembly on the table is easy…

Now it can hold 500 pounds. but I wouldn't bet on it

I had my doubts about the claims that the wearer could support 500 pounds and they were reinforced when I inspected the product. I originally wanted to convert it to a motorcycle/hybrid truck, but it's not really hard at all. After rearranging the parts for a few minutes, I decided to combine the basket parts and some of the reinforcements and create a smaller cargo carrier that will carry a 300lb load to suit my current needs, as well as the foldable one Tow hitch to use for other projects…

Very happy with hitch accessory

I'm really surprised I didn't save a few bucks and bought the steel version but I'm glad I didn't. This aluminum saves more weight than I expected and the lighter weight means I'm more likely to use it. It folds easily and is the perfect angle and clearance for my SUV. However, be careful when transporting it as the end that goes into the receiver is quite sharp. Also include the price of a "clutch wrench" in the price if you don't already have one. I was going to post a link but the one I…

Great alternative to heavy solid metal blocks

Light, strong but not something you'd throw logs at as it takes a little thought about weight distribution. Mine sagged a bit on the sides/ends after a ride with 200-300 pounds of gear. I think I can tighten it up and that should help. Easy assembly, less than 30 minutes. The receiver just doesn't get tight, but I've found that it does on many hitches, e.g. B. with my bike rack. Same, so play it. That was enough for me to do something about it. So I went to UHaul and bought a lock and clutch…

Poor quality control and design

I had two main issues with this medium: 1. The standard 2x2" hitch isn't exactly square, it has rounded edges. The Curt Cargo Carrier does have rounded edges, but they aren't sufficiently rounded. In order to fit the holder into my pickup hitch, I had to take a grinder and round the corners to fit. I have many other 2" receiver accessories that go well with my receiver, so the problem is Kurt, not my receiver. Curt's design should have included a wider range of receiver tolerances. 2. After…

Not bad, but I did better.

I bought this with Revain Prime for next day delivery as I needed it for a 300 mile one way fishing trip. Received on time so delivery was good. Overall I like the carrier, but it does have a few wobble issues that other carriers might have. I installed it on my 2007 Dodge Nitro. R/TI made a modification to shorten the 2" steel tube by 1.5". Now it's much more stable. Basically I pressed the 2" pipe firmly against the weld for the folding mechanism, then marked it with a marker and used the…

Overclocked 3600+ miles Load Limit

This was installed on my 4th generation Toyota 4Runner. I am very satisfied with this product after changing it. After learning from other reviewers, I immediately screwed a 1/2 inch piece of plywood to the bottom. That made a big difference and made it much stronger. I also used a hitch stabilizer I bought from Revain (CZC AUTO Hitch Tightener). Without these mods I would give this product 3 stars but that makes it a solid 5. You will need to put plywood on top of it like I did if you plan to…
