    Best outdoor wiring kit

Great product. The only thing I did differently was to use the hot wire already on the right side of the rear exit under the plastic molding on the passenger side. The kit wanted you to run a wire to the battery. It was made for more than one car I think. But I was very happy with it.

    Pros
    • Perfect for outdoor activities
    Cons
    • Definitely bad product

    Works great difficult to install

I bought this product as a package damage option for less money, the package was damaged as expected but the product was in good condition and ready to plug into my car. The reason I gave this product a lower rating is that it is very difficult to install on a car. I tried to do it myself but ended up taking it to a machine shop.

    Works as it should

This kit makes it easy to build a reliable electrical system for your vehicle and trailer. No cutting or splicing with factory wiring. The only difficulty with this job is routing the power cable from the back panel to the front of the patch panel and removing the side panels. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the hardest, I'll give this a 4.

    • Consistent test results

    Not Fit 2014 Chevrolet Captiva

Spark Plug Not Fit 2014 Chevrolet Captiva. To be fair, there are still no plug and play wiring harnesses that are suitable for a car. To solve this problem, I cut off the connectors and hard-wired the wiring harness to my car's lighting system. The schematics could definitely be better. I downloaded the Chevy wiring color code chart and then checked it along the way from there. So in the end the suspension fit me after a few hours of work.

    Faulty converter

Plugged this into my 2008 Vue XR and it didn't work. I am a longtime boater and RV owner with experience wiring trailer lights. Took it to a local tech center who confirmed it was faulty. Contact Kurt MFG. and they agreed to credit this item through the dealer (my hitch). I asked my local attachment dealer to install a new transducer as I couldn't wait for a replacement due to lack of time. It is better to buy this item from a local source.

    • This is great

    • Functionality

I bought this to install on a saturn vue v6 to order connect a medium-sized trailer to it. I've been able to drive it under a vehicle myself (although it's not the easiest thing in the world) and protect it from damage. It worked for the year I owned the car (even in the Iowa winter) until I sold it. Nothing to complain about the price, but it took a lot of effort to install it yourself.

I installed it myself. Works perfectly.

I installed it on our 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport. The installation went exactly as described in the enclosed brochure. The images shown in the brochure are not very helpful, but the text is helpful. There is a great video on Kurt's website showing each step of the installation process. It has helped me plan ahead and know what to expect. It was a lot of work, but very easy. It probably took me about 2 hours to work independently. Most of the time was spent routing the positive lead under the…
