Ease of installation. Works perfectly.

Need a better way to mount the control box on the vehicle. The double-sided tape does not stick to the device or vehicle. I attached it with a zipper. Route the wiring before installing the hitch. This is a great product!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some difficulties

The unit only lasts about 18 months or less.

The second unit is out of service. The first died after 6 months, the second died after about 18 months. The only trailer attached was a Carry On 8x5 foot cargo trailer that they sell at the Lows with Lowes stickers on them, these things don't have many lights so can't be from overloading.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Great price for a good product that does the job.

It took me about 1.25 hours to install this wire harness, mostly on my 2013 Hyundai Tucson. It works as it should and all the wires were long enough to get where they need to go. My only very minor complaint was that I ran out of zip ties, but I may have overdone them.

Not much time. Wait 2 hours + or .

Needs some time. Wait 2 hours + or - . For a long time, the cable was pulled from behind or from the car to the battery. It turned out to be much easier to crawl under the body under the frame than into the cabin. Worked first time with no problems I want extra ties as everyone else says they don't send enough.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Can't remember

P 'n P for external accessories

Perfect connections but poor instructions for 2012 Tucson. I watched a video on the CURT website to find out how to get to Santa Fe 2013. THAT was helpful. There is very little extra wiring to shove somewhere out of sight. Have extra cable ties ready. Don't forget the (white) ground wire that's bolted to the body - it works fine in the taillight cavity.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I'll add later

Not very reliable, should last at least a year!

This is the second time this device has failed in less than a year. Starts with a blown fuse and then starts to work erratically, some lights don't work or come on and then go off and then turn signals briefly on one side and then open on the other. It looks like they have a technical problem with the control unit!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Poor

But works great.

Actually, detailed instructions should have been included. There have been many videos on the internet about the installation on a 2012 Hyundai Tucson. Let me be the first to say they didn't help much as they made you run the wires for the left side through the hole in the floor and then the inner panel to the light. It can't be that these wires are long enough for that. The easiest way to make this connection is to modify the existing grommet that goes in the back of the light (on either side)

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
