does the job - cycling

It did a great job and helped me get some old 80's/90's cranks off the bike (Shimano 600). but there were small imperfections on the threads, fortunately they were high enough not to bother much. The magnetic cap is a handy feature.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons

High quality and reliable bicycle tool.

Perfect. Fine threads are not suitable for people using a heavy pipe wrench as a hammer. I had to use a small nut as an extra washer to push the axle out of the crank because the tool wasn't thin enough. But apparently the tool for this has a magnetic holder and is strong and durable.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Almost everything ok

Easy to use once I figured it out

There is a small magnetic cap on the push rod inside that keeps it from detaching from my old cranks. Once I realized it was a magnet and should be removed, it worked like a charm. I've asked to remove some really old and abandoned connecting rods and every time it's so easy with no damage.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Perfect. on Shop Tools

worked great and saved me the trip to the bike shop - I'm very satisfied. It was really easy to use, although I used a small nut as a spacer as the plunger wasn't tight/deep enough. not that big of a deal to lower my rating as anyone who removes the handle will understand immediately and the nut will be in the spares bin.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • negative impression

Very comfortable and well made

Works great. The people who removed their connecting rods used the tool incorrectly. Be sure to remove the crank bolts/nuts before installing the tool. Unscrew the two halves and carefully screw the larger diameter half into the threads of the crank. Don't force it. If it doesn't turn easily, unscrew it and clean the threads. When used correctly, the handle can be removed with minimal effort.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • boring packaging

Poorly made and unusable. Spend the extra $5 and don't ruin your bike.

This "tool" could not be inserted more than 1 turn into the bicycle grip without binding. There was no cross threading - I tried several times on both cranks and stopped before messing up the threads on the bike. I looked closely at the threads, they were roughly tightened to the end. I gave up and luckily the threads on the handle weren't badly damaged. Bought the park tool and it threads smoothly into the crank and removes easily. Spend the extra $5 and get a quality tool. I wonder how many…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No

Well done crank puller

Used on a 35 year old Sugino crank that has never been removed. Before using this squeegee, I applied CRC Freeze-Off Super Penetrating Spray to the area. Here are the steps I followed: 1) Spray the penetrant on the crank to make it easier to loosen. 2) Clean the threads of the crank. 3) Completely remove the center screw from the puller. Wrench5) Hand tighten the center bolt in the puller until it contacts the square drive.6) Use a 14mm socket wrench to tighten the center bolt in the puller…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Could have opted for a newer model

Works great for less money.

I don't usually worry about reviews, but it was worth it. I needed an Isis/Octalink crank tool so I took a chance and got this one. It turned out to be a good choice. The Park CWP-7 is also a good tool, but I prefer it for two reasons. First, it has fewer parts to lose. The park has 2 interchangeable heads, one for square cranks, the other for wedge cranks. So one is always hanging around the room while you use the other. Or drive under the bank etc if you're like me. Second, it has a ramped…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • There are flaws
