like most other bike mounts

The nut is stronger than plastic. The screw has a hex head that must be caught by the hex socket of the plastic mounting screw. But the nut uses a nylon lock washer inside the nut, and the hold of the nut washer is stronger than the grip of the screw head's plastic notch. As a result, I had to saw off a partially tightened nut and find my own bolt instead; one I could put a hex wrench in like most other proper bike fasteners. 2 star rating because while I've come up with a workaround, a pieceโ€ฆ

Perfect for hotshot mounting!

Perfect except I have to get new nuts and bolts. I can't get the screws to tighten the device to my luggage rack. It's safe, but it's free. And I think since I need spare bolts I could make them long enough to attach the device to a milk crate I strapped to my stand so I can increase my line of sight. (Ignore my milk crate. It's grey, so it matches my bike AND works great transporting my groceries and sometimes it's 6-2 liters of diet soda!) Wrench for nut tightening. I used needle nose pliers.

Useful mount that's a little more expensive than expected

Revain asked me to rate the 'safety features' of this product, although to be honest they aren't there. It's just an extra spot to mount a light, there's no way to stop a stranger taking it off your bike, but it doesn't matter. My baskets wouldn't block it for oncoming traffic. I was happy with its performance but had to adapt it to my loaded touring bike - if the little wrench was pointing up my tent would be resting on it and straining the plastic, but if it was pointing down it would get inโ€ฆ

almost good. - Sport

The mounting holes on my Bontrager rack don't quite line up. I can still use it. I will only use 3 zip ties to secure it. Although it would be nice if it installed as intended and not just like that. To be honest, I'm not sure if the part or the frame is to blame. I think there is no industry standard when it comes to this. Also, it only comes with 2 mounting screws and clearly has 3 holes for 3 screws. Why not include a set of 3 so you can use all three when needed? Otherwise it looksโ€ฆ

Works great, time will tell.

While I don't like to rate shipping reviews, I have to say that this product arrived 2 days earlier than expected. Perfect. Now the mount itself is excellent. If used on a Topeak Explorer stand you will be in trouble if you don't heed my warning. To install: 1. Use a 5/16.2 ratchet screwdriver. Make sure the hex of the screw faces the same direction as the light (don't put the nut under the Topeak stand).3. Use 5/16 bit4. Squeeze your hands and fingertips so they come under the Topeak rack andโ€ฆ
