Defective or different

As mentioned before, D-Link either changed the product without changing the model, thereby breaking compatibility, or they have a high failure rate. Tried with Ubuntu 12.04, Mac OSX 10.7.8 and pfSense 2, all mentioned in previous reviews as working out of the box. I can only conclude that the device is defective or that something has changed with newer devices. In any case, he will return to Revane to sort it out. way to find another one that works.

Intermittent problems with the device after 5 months of use

I bought this in September 2011 to use on my Macbook Air. It has been working fine for the last 5 months until recently. The connection light is still on, but I'm having intermittent connection problems (ping from other computers stops intermittently and sometimes the system can't get a DHCP address). I've since bought another adapter to replace this one and I'm back in business. It's cheap, but don't expect it to last very long.

Excellent network adapter for Linux

I have an Atom based motherboard with an integrated network interface. I had to add a second network interface so I could turn the machine into a router. This device was perfect for my needs. I'm using Ubuntu Server 10.04.3, it was recognized correctly and works great. Communication has been stable for about a month. 100 MBit/s was not a problem for me because it is still faster than my DSL connection. Very satisfied and highly recommended for Linux users.

  • Excellent design

  • I won't say anything

Easy to install and works great

Received this product from Revain today and it was up and running in minutes. It's a great choice. Basically, it allows you to connect a computer to a network (including an Internet modem) without a network card or Ethernet port. - I removed the network card from my old Dell Dimension to upgrade it with a USB 2.0 card in this slot. - This D-Link adapter eliminates the need for a network card. I installed a D-Link adapter between my Belkin Pre-N wireless router and my computer. - Works…

Included Mac drivers didn't work

I bought this because an older iMac's built-in Ethernet port failed. I was surprised when it arrived because the CD said there were Macintosh drivers that *should* work with the iMac in question (hardware, software, etc. are fine). However, the device did not connect to the Internet even though the computer recognized the device. I installed the free drivers from [.] and it worked right away. The hardware itself seems to work fine, but I lost an hour of my life trying to get the D-Link drivers…

Works great with pfSense 2

I decided to turn an old laptop into a router with pfSense as I needed IPSec VPN capabilities to work and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new router with it Capability. Like most laptops it only has one ethernet port so I decided to buy an adapter to add another port. After I connected the adapter and installed pfSense 1.2.3, for some reason I was only able to get 50Mbps, even though I was able to get 100Mbps. I updated to pfSense version 2-RC3 and it seemed to be using the new driver…

Best Network Adapters Guide

I bought this a few months ago after reading the reviews. Some reviews said this product can be used in Mac OS based laptops and I found this to be true. My order arrived quickly and this USB ethernet port worked great at home. However, after an international trip (I put the ethernet USB in my luggage bag) it stopped working. When I connect the internet cable to my laptop with this Ethernet to USB, my laptop shows that the internet cable is disconnected. I noticed that this situation is due to…

Frustrating to install

Seems like a good product now that it works for me. I've been going wireless for the last few months because my network card stopped responding and with this product my connection is much more stable and faster. However, I almost returned the product because I couldn't install the driver. I tried 3 different relatively new laptops, two from Toshiba and one from Dell - all running Windows XP. As soon as you plug it in it is recognized but when you try to install the driver from the CD as…
