Works very well but bearings don't last forever

I give this tool 5 stars because it has worked well for me. But after a few projects (many hours of use) it started to shake due to poor storage. No wonder considering the way this tool is used, which is pressed against the material at 90 degrees to the axis of rotation with considerable pressure as it is passed over the material to be cut. Ok, I disassembled it and replaced 2 bearings and it's working again. FYI the bearings are standard 6004-2RS and 6203-2RS (top and bottom). Inexpensive and…

Pros
  • Handy item

  • So far so good

Made my own ox nose tile paying the cost of a low speed grinder and this round nose cutter. You'll need to press down on your work, use flat-surfaced plywood under the tile you want to round for the roller to slide over, and hold the tile between 1/64th and 3/16th from the edge. This way you get a completely different look of a bullnose. Wear a raincoat and keep the bit dry, turn on the water until it drips out of the bit, use the lowest speed you can, and keep the side sander straight as you…

Ideal for marble work - bits

I have 12" x 12" marble slabs in my shower. I needed many different sized rosettes around the door and many details needed two rounded edges. The local tile shop asked for $10 per edge, which equated to $20 per tile. I had about 50 edges to round off, so I decided to try it myself. I wanted to use one of my angle grinders but didn't realize they all run at fixed speeds in excess of 10,000 rpm. This cutter offers 3500-4000 rpm. So I bought an adapter from Damo "Adapter Bits / 5/8"-11 to 3/8"…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
