Danco 80765 Universal Spout Chrome Review

THERE ARE TWO standard US tub spout configurations. You must remove the old one and make sure it is "long" or "short" before ordering.

Difficult to find a decent 5/8" NPT spout in the old design. . There was a gap of about 3/16" ", which I had to fill caulk. to select. The spout looks nice, is easy to operate and doesn't drip much when retracted. I would buy again even with a crack

Installation video is misleading. This "universal" faucet will not work with a non-threaded fitting. The installation video shows how to install this faucet on a non-threaded spigot using an adapter. But I didn't get that. It's an illusion. So I have a faucet that I can't install. Why is there a video on how to install a different product than the one I bought?

The only difficulty was removing the old one - it must have been an original! No tools required for installation. Make sure you use teflon tape on the pipe coming out of the wall and then on the 1/2" adapter in case you need to use one. After checking the spout for leaks and function, apply a light coat of bathroom sealant around the spout and where it meets the wall after the spout is installed. They have made!

My shower spout is outdated. The water literally ate through the last one due to a leak. At the next hardware store. After 4 rides I never got what I needed. You can see our hookah was 3/4" when all available were 1/2". Local stores didn't stock this size, so I tried every Tim Allen trick I could think of and finally found a Revain replacement. Nice strong spout. My old one stopped working due to (obviously) years of hard water build up and we were unable to switch/divert the water to the shower head. The installation was quite easy. But no matter how hard and how many times I tried (and taped the pipe back), I couldn't screw the adapter onto the pipe deep enough. We ended up actually screwing the adapter back into the back of the spout and installing it as a whole. Only then could we get it flush with the nose ring. Although it works

So we bought this faucet to replace an old faucet made by the same company. The differences were amazing. Now the quality was much worse. The internal parts of our old faucet were all metal (as far as I could tell) and the weight was probably 2 or 3 times that of the new faucet.
