Good value for money included in case

Worked well for spring compression on a 2012 Grand Caravan. I replaced the silver round pull rings with heavier ones. Also, avoid using silver slide pins that others seem to have trouble with. If I ever have to do it again, I probably won't use pins. The case is good and the compressors are oil lubricated.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • old

High quality tools and equipment

The product fully corresponds to the description and the picture provided by the seller. Good quality and worked well. I used spring compressors on a 1998 Cadillac DeVille with HD suspension. The only observation was that the safety latches would not engage due to the diameter of the coil of the spring. This did not affect or limit the use of the tool in any way. It worked very well and I was able to switch frames with no problems.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Recommendation for safely compressing car springs

Replaced shock absorbers and springs, couldn't do without them. These compressors have a handy lip to hold the spring and a safety clip to attach it. Don't rely on the flimsy rings on the clamps to pull them out under pressure. I only had to squeeze three rings so there was enough room to pull it out and put it back in. It is recommended to use thread oil and an impact wrench to alternately tighten each side a few inches at a time.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not the best

!DANGER! SLIGHTLY BENT! NOT HARD!

!DANGEROUS FAILURE!NOT A DIFFICULT JOB!When I first used this compressor on a 2004 Toyota Sequoia strut it couldn't even compress the spring and started to bend. I have used these compressors many times and have never had a problem. I don't know if it's the quality or the metal. Anyway, I expected more. I could have been seriously injured. The description and the article indicate that for difficult operating conditions. This 'major' marketing mistake will kill someone

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Compatibility

Buy them for one or two uses. Buy a folding bed for frequent use.

Works well for intended purpose. There were no problems with their performance. They can be a little tricky to use, much harder than a clamshell spring compressor, but they work and are a third of the price. There is room for improvement in the locking pins. They don't have a latch and couldn't be used with the Wrangler riser springs I got anyway as the springs were too thick, but that had nothing to do with the fitment. The blow molding is cheap.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

An absolute must-have tool

If you're overhauling MacPherson struts or replacing coil spring shocks, this tool is a MUST. One thing didn't impress me. The edge of the bar that slides between the coils was too wide. I had to saw off a quarter inch of the bar on all four tabs. There was plenty left, so the spring was securely attached. There were two features I LOVE. One was a sliding pin that locks the spool in the bar and keeps it secure. The second was a socket on the end of the drive screw that allowed a 1/2" x 6"…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of style
