Davis Instruments Tender Fender Clips Review

Have been using this brand of wing clips for many years. They have served well and accepted the abuses associated with the use of boat fenders.

The best $15 that you can spend on buying a boat. Get up, jump out, the wings are always at the right height. Surprisingly strong, finally one broke after 7 years of use. Makes life a lot easier! (27 foot cozy cabin)

Once you've adjusted the fender to the correct height, all you have to do is number it from front to back on each side (e.g. port/left 1 , P2 , P3 etc. and Starboard/Starboard 1, S2, S3 etc.) They work fine on rails or spikes. My only issue is that I bought twice what I needed (not knowing it was 2 packs). I guess I'll have to buy another boat!

They work fine but be careful there is a continuous edge at the top of the clip so you can't use them if you put a boat cover on top. Our boat is moored and we're using summer shelters, but we've found we can't throw shelter over that useless ridge. You have to use bumpers in the dock so they were useless. Some bad design by someone who doesn't sail a boat.

I have had them for a very long time (10 years) and have decided to buy two more. They seem about the same, but don't go out the window and stay the same. Tends to slip more than others. However, when you arrive at docks where you're not sure which side the fenders are on, it's easy to quickly switch from side to side and keep the rope at the right length. Great for the middle part.
