The lid is NOT made of metal!

The text clearly says "Sturdy finished wood base, metal top". CAP (top) in white PLASTIC with copper effect finish. Don't let the text or photo fool you. Return Deckorators 72223 "Copper Post Cap" to Revain for false advertising.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Not a big fan. on Caps

Bought this item for my deck two years ago, looked great, even painted the wooden base to match the color of the deck, broke both last week, the base fell apart , looks like glue used to assemble this thing. I live in Georgia so maybe rain or humidity influenced it. I would recommend buying a metal based bar cover, there is no reason it should only last two years. Look for one that has a metal base.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Write later

An additional 10 cents of glue can double or triple the life of this product. They're well made with matching copper plates and injection molding, but they don't use enough glue to keep the copper plate connected to the base. The new bases are vinyl so they won't rot like the raw wood old ones, but they save on the glue holding the copper up and they soon loosen and deflate.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons

Pizzazz for your fence post tips!

I bought 4 of these [virtually identical] about 20 years ago for the top of a trellis trellis I hand made for Sunset magazine. Adhesion has eventually deteriorated over the years. I have to admit that the squirrel racers have a lot to do with the glue finally peeling off the fence post. I found them and ordered 4 new ones. I like you very much! They look great and really add a bit of architectural design to the bar caps. I would recommend her!

Pros
  • Sample for one year
Cons
  • Security

inferior quality. for posts and accessories

I've used them repeatedly (stubbornly) and they always fall apart. If I hadn't tried to fit in with the others, I would have switched sooner. The copper part is attached to the plastic base with about two inches of low-grade glue. A wooden base with pads is attached to the plastic. Finishing elements tend to fall off. The caps do not attach well to the frames. I have tried various adhesives including Gorilla brand construction adhesive. Just go buy something else. This brand is of poor quality

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Nothing here
