🚪 DZ43200 Tailgate Assist: Perfect Fit for 04-14 Ford F150 & Lincoln Mark LT Review

Damper works but components are not very good. I ended up twisting my own insert to screw it to the tailgate because the wrench wasn't installed properly and has been known to come loose.

Trunk opener works well for about a year or so. I bought 2 of these for my f150 and each time they broke. I will not buy this product again, I will try another manufacturer. The bottom attachment to the tailgate seems to be a problem. I am attaching a photo of the problem. I lowered the tailgate about 20 times before every part broke.

was easy. Installation took about 10 minutes. Didn't know you put a gold coin in a hole and just spin it until you can. This will stretch it out and lock it in place, and then you remove the screw and washer and insert the ballpoint pen. I thought his device would somehow offset the weight of the tailgate but it doesn't. I should have guessed from the picture but it STRENGTHENS the tailgate down but does nothing to raise the tailgate (yes!). So you can just let go of the tailgate and take a step back, and it will gently slide down. But if you raise, you get no help. Received it and started installing immediately. The instructions are quite clear, so there were no problems. The only problem I had during the installation was the first part, installing the stub. I followed the instructions, measured 3/4", marked a dot on the nut to count 9 turns and began installing the plug. 9 turns, the plug is not screwed in, it loosened a bit but came still free from the hole in the trunk lid, I screwed the bolt back into the blind nut, this time all the way and put it…

06/14/2017 - Well, now it is completely broken. The piston has come off the supports, and the useless nut has come loose and is no longer attached to the piston. Given all the complaints about Nutsert, you'd think DeeZee would solve that problem, but apparently it doesn't. This item gets a 5/5 when installed. It works well and does what it's supposed to. It should be noted that I have a 2013 Ford F150 FX4. Now for the installation process, I'd give it a 1/5 (hence the generous 3/5 overall score). With this equipment it was impossible to correctly mount the ball joint on the tailgate.
