We have these on our front door as the 4 year old has figured out all the locks and wants to help when Revane is at the door. I like that it's small and remote and can't reach her.

When I moved into my house, one was installed on the front door. I know the family used to have kids and this is a great way to keep the kids from answering the door. However, I don't have any children and for me (a single single woman) it gives me extra security. I bought another one for the second door.

When I first installed this locking device I was disappointed. My door opened easily. Disappointed, I immediately started returning the item. Then I realized that the problem wasn't in the product, it was in me. I placed it too far on the door frame which prevented the lock from engaging properly. Once the lock was set correctly, it locked without a problem and my door would not open. Finally my craft closet and my little one are safe from each other!

They are amazing. We use them to stop our little ones opening doors from the inside and they do a great job. Cheap and very effective. Sometimes they can be a bit tricky to open, but once you get the hang of it you won't have any problems. The only thing that worries me is random locks - I think it's unlikely, but actually anything is possible.
