The overall design is good, but there is a problem. During assembly, the cylindrical washer came off very easily and I had to find a way around it. You would think that the holes around the washer would solve this problem, but they are very close to the hole and you should take that into account when using screws. A really small problem that ended up requiring creative thinking.

My husband was given a tool box at work but the key to the lock was missing so I bought it hoping he could install and lock it. He said it's very easy to install, but sticks out far rather than all the way in. So he had to adjust it to fix it. So I wouldn't recommend it. He said he was able to get it locked and he can't risk his fees being stolen at work so he should keep this one until he finds the right lock.

The instructions are tiny and minimal. Correct but not detailed. Few tools are required for installation, but nimble fingers and some hardware experience go a long way. I bought this to replace a desk lock that I didn't have a key for. The lock works great in my situation but as with other reviews there are a few things to be aware of. Although the description says for 1/2" to 1" thick drawers, it will NOT fit a 1" drawer. I know this because my drawer is less than 1" but I had trouble getting the hex nut to get into the lock.
