Not really what we expected

We bought a carbon steel pan at a yard sale and it's a great pan. but the problem is it's too small so we can only cook two eggs at a time.We purchased this new pan thinking it would be the solution to our problem. It's big enough. but it is surely not what we've come to expect from carbon steel. Everything sticks. We were very careful to season the pan properly before using it and where the old pan from the yard sale wipes clean. this one has to be soaked and we need to use a plastic scrapper…

Pros
  • Higher heat resistance than other pans
Cons
  • Carbon steel pans can warp or bend under high heat if not thick enough

Don't buy this pan

Don't buy this pan if you're looking for a carbon steel pan to season and make non stick. This is not it. I tried to season this thing several times and several different ways. It did NOT develop any seasoning. And everything stuck to it, even bacon and sausage. I don't think it's real carbon steel. It looks like it's coated with something but it's not non -stick. Get a deBuyer or Matfer. I threw it in the trash once I had a real carbon steel pan.

Pros
  • Great for stir-fry, eggs, and pancakes in addition to meats
Cons
  • Not recommended for cooks who prefer to cook with minimal oil or butter

It has found a place in my kitchen

After many attempts I finally got it seasoned an does bacon and potatoes well. I would still like a shorter handle. Maybe you could offer a choice.

Pros
  • Great for everyday use for meals preparation
Cons
  • Not recommended for people who prefer to cook in a dishwasher
