good kit, not good for 10 AWG

The terminals provided are quite small for 10 gauge wire. 12 might work, but the 10 gauge insulation is too thick to fit in the strain relief tabs on the connector.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Good, but not great

No instructions at all

No instructions or website for assembly. It's not that easy to look at it and figure out how the metal links fit which side or side. Probably not bad if you already know.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Contact seller

Works well.: Ignition parts

It took some time to study all the moulds, a few photos and other comments but I figured it out. Posted a video to help. Not the best video I know. This will help move the gaskets on the wires before removing the insulation.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Expensive

no instructions suitable for spare parts

plug came without instructions. I was able to find out, but only after taking it apart. The shorter part is tricky as you have to thread the wire through the connector before crimping the metal part.

Pros
  • best
Cons
  • not as thick as other picks

Fits snugly for 10 AWG

Used for a 48VDC fridge connector - good quality connector but snug for 10 AWG stranded copper, I thought it wouldn't fit but took a little extra effort to do so. Thanks for posting the photo to help with assembly.

Pros
  • Nice to use

Just like an old school Lego build

Apparently most of the reviewers of this article never played with Lego or any nick nack puzzles on a coffee table as a kid. If you need guidance on how to do this, you'd better let someone else do the work! I found this item to be exactly what I needed. I have 10 AWG wire that powers a fuel cell in my company truck. The previous plug was not marine grade so water was an issue. This plug will do an amazing job judging by the feel. No soldering and no assembly work. Can be a bit fussy, butโ€ฆ

Made disposable, prepare for failure.

Should have read the other reviews first. It doesn't come with instructions. Very simple, I thought. All decent car connectors work, but not this one. The jack requires you to insert wires through the plug before crimping the plugs. It is not possible to replace the plastic sleeve without cutting the metal connectors and replacement parts are not supplied. Save your money and buy a German plug instead. It's as if the manufacturer/seller wants you to screw up and buy another kit. The stockโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Trick to use with 10 gauge wire!

This connector is well made and probably not a problem for 12 gauge wire. But the 10 gauge has a few problems. Judging by the size of the holes in the rubber grommets covering the male and female sides, it was clear something was needed to get through them. I removed the pointed end of a mechanical pencil, slipped it onto the end of the 10ga wire, smeared some lube (olive oil was the closest thing back then) onto the tip, and pushed it right through the sleeve. Very easy. I'm trying to find aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Works fine on 12 AWG

No instructions but not too difficult to wire. For the female end, remove the red rubber plug, feed both wires through the holes, and then feed the wires through the female housing. Crimp the connectors and slide them back into the housing (so they snap in at the front). Then slide the rubber stopper over the wires into the connector housing. For the plug end, thread the two wires through the black rubber plug, crimp the plugs onto the wires, and then flip them over so the exposed portion ofโ€ฆ
