We have a new tandem with 27.5" Boost wheels and 3.0" tires. Our old Yakima wheel fork wouldn't hold this front wheel, but the Delta Cycle Wheel Hitch will. I had to add a 2x2 under the Delta fork as I had it installed on a flat surface (see photo). The wheel fit on the fork but did not touch a flat surface. Rack mounting shouldn't be a problem. This wheel measures 14.25 inches from axle center to ground when mounted on a tandem.

Great fork mount for internal bike rack on my LR3. I mounted them to the Superstrut frame section from Home Depot using flare nuts and 1/4"-20 x 1" screws + washers. Quality bike hitch at an affordable price. They are cheaper and thinner than Saris and work great with Saris dual and triple rail bike mounts. The bike is easy to assemble (the forks can be shrunk or splayed in for almost any wheel axle width, but are stiff enough that they don't rock at all).
