Extra large and heavy, but surprisingly comfortable even on climbs.

The only problem is that it's hard to fit in my camelback fanny pack so I have to use velcro pads to attach it to the handlebars when I don't want to carry it when climbing. I also have elbow pads which are excellent too. A full backpack will fit both knee pads and elbow pads, but no more. I really think they protect well in the event of an accident, although I haven't had them yet.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great Pads in Knee Pads

I have to say they are worth the money. They are very strong and well built. Comfortable when first put on and still ok for mountain biking in the rain. After a wet ride, I let them dry and then brushed them off. The upholstery makes a solid impression. I haven't (yet) had the pleasure of testing them for effectiveness. The movement is completely unrestricted. And they dissipate heat very well. Overall I am very happy with them and would recommend them without hesitation.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Clarity

Best knee pads (for skating)

I have tried about 6-7 different sets/brands of skate knee pads and they are perfect (although they are made for cycling). They are very flexible and comfortable, I hardly remember them being there. They're also thinner than most knee pads and yes, I've fallen many times on smooth and rough concrete and rocks. No problems and felt almost nothing. Be sure to buy the recommended size with correct measurements on the brand's website! Do not increase or decrease the size. I'm 5ft 11in, 150lbs andโ€ฆ

I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good pair of knee pads.

I've been researching knee pads for many weeks, looking at videos and parallel reviews on several MTB forums. I decided to try them out. since I run their helmet and am a fan of it. So here's my opinion: The fit is perfect and very comfortable. Some people say the sizes are wrong, just learn how to measure things and you will get the right size, adding an inch to your height won't always help you. The product and packaging are of good quality and they come with a mesh pouch which is handy forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Very comfortable and stays in place - great protection

Rode 16 miles through Pisgah Forest, NC including 9 miles of gravel, tech climb and bike climb and they stayed in place and comfortable the whole time . Never had to readjust. I've worn Fox Enduro knee pads in the past and they're obviously not as comfortable as these, but they just don't offer the protection I need for aggressive descents over rough, rocky terrain. Thankfully I haven't crash tested them yet but I'll update my review when I do and if everything goes as expected I'll add a #5โ€ฆ
