Don't believe it. for spare parts

Derale advertises this radiator as an external transmission cooler. A certified mechanic installed a cooler on my fender and in normal driving it didn't cool my transmission. It quickly accelerated to 220 degrees. I hope my transmission is not damaged.

Awesome detachable cooler - super compact!

Bought this fan for my 2006 Dodge 3500 Cummins and it works great. It's an exhaust fan, not a pressure fan, so it's more efficient. It also uses a bar and rack heatsink instead of the standard fin heatsink. I installed this on a frame rail under the bed; nice and compact fan. It comes with 2 wire connectors, one for each fan, which I had to cut and pin. I hooked up a switch for a fan and didn't use a thermostat; I monitor the temperature of the transistor with a sensor, so I just turn it on…

20 degrees below Parts

I tow an 11,000 lb fifth wheel with a Ram 04 w/ 5.9 Cummins and a 48RE transmission. The transmission got hot on stop and go and on slow climbs when the torque converter failed to lock up. Installed as an additional cooler. I mounted it on the rear transmission carrier. For my assembly it would be better if the fittings come out at the end and not the sides. I bought swinging elbows to make it easier. I didn't use a thermostat, instead I used a powered auxiliary relay and switch to power the…

Pros
  • High efficiency multi-layer plate cooler
Cons
  • Doubtful senior purchase

This worked to keep my transmission oil at an acceptable temperature.

I removed the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Transmission Oil Heat Exchanger and saw that my torque converter transmission temperature was over 230 degrees in stop and go traffic (very bad)! I installed a Derale cooler under my bed after the front mounted cooler and doubted it would even work because it was so small and it was the only thing that fit. The only problem was that I couldn't turn on the fans until I set the temperature switch to the output to the cooler transfer line. After that, my trance…
