Description of Derwent Inktense Ink Blocks, 24 Count - Vibrant Colors for Stunning Artwork (Model: 2300443)

VERSATILE & VIBRANT – The 8mm square block combines versatility with vivid colour. Use the edge for fine details or the side to cover large surface areas quickly. Contains full range of 24 colours. WATER SOLUBLE – Expand your creative possibilities. When blocks are used dry, they deliver pure, vibrant colour. For different effects, use a wet brush to lift colour directly from the block. PERMANENT COLOUR – Pigments dry quickly and permanently when washed out, minimizing colour bleeding. Once dry, colours can be placed next to each other or layered, without fear of colour bleeding. SURFACE VARIETY – Switch up your artistic canvas. As the colour dries permanently, it’s great on fabrics such as silk or cotton. Can also easily be used on paper. Modify the use to fit your project. COLOUR CREATION – Integrated palette is great for creating colours. Make blends by mixing colours together or obtain lighter shades of one colour by adding water. Mix to create a unique work of art. ACCESSORIES – For best results, combine with other Derwent products, such as Derwent Waterbrush Set, Derwent Inktense Block Spritzer and Derwent Inktense Block Grate and Shake.

Versatile, bright, durable!

I just love these little pigment spots. I've chipped off the bits stuck in the watercolor halves and use them like watercolor paints - just once dry they don't move, blend, rise or disappear! I've been experimenting with color blending and have three solid base color palettes - cool, warm and earthy (the specific ones I use are listed below). Ideal for hiking and studio. I use them in the field and to keep a nature journal because before I used to keep spilling, dripping, getting in the rain…

Bright colors, nice to use. Recommend!

I'm a big fan of ink pens. I found this 24 shade Intense palette and I had to have it. For my first test, I used Ranger cold-pressed watercolor paper. I used the #6 and #0 brushes. When you first open the palette, do it slowly. The colored blocks are not fixed and fall out of the halves. Take one out, add 2 or 3 drops of water to the drip tray and put the color block back in. This will melt the block to the bottom and stick to the pan. Unlike many watercolor pans, you don't spray water to…

Beautiful Paintable Colors

I bought a Derwent Inktense Travel Pan Set to use with the Bee Paper Inktober watercolor book. When my travel set arrived all the outer packaging was in pristine condition but when the travel set packaging was opened the plastic pallet was stained with dried ink. Upon opening the palette, I found that some ink blocks had cracked and shifted in transit, contaminating nearby colors and smearing the palette during mixing. I had originally considered returning the product but found that a…

I also like Intense Blocks

I also like intensive blocks. When it's wet your colors will look amazing. I mainly use it on silk. It dries quickly, you can heat the iron and not steam it, so you can use it immediately. and its persistence. This set and the Derwent Instense blocks are very good for traveling. I travel a lot so I need something that doesn't involve using dyes, that's easy to edit on the plane or at the destination, but still has the control to play or draw when the mood calls for it. I highly recommend this…

Pros
  • . ACCESSORIES. Combine with other Derwent products such as the Derwent Waterbrush Set, Derwent Inktense Block Spritzer and Derwent Inktense Block Grate and Shake for best results.
Cons
  • Little things

First impression: yes, but it can have potential for some things. There really isn't anything special about them other than that they last a long time once dry and look like watercolor paints so I was interested in trying them out. The colors chosen for this palette are not what I consider to be intense as the name "Inktense" would suggest and they are much less intense than my Winson & Newton and Daniel Smith artistic quality watercolors, when applied as a gradient. . to wash. So I was…
