Basic door knob does the job/easy installation

The door knob on my son's closet door broke, needed a new one with no lock and this one fits and works well. Easy installation.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Repair

slightly unsuitable for door handles

This door handle is easy to assemble. But somehow it's a little out of my door. Can still be used. And it's not very smooth when I lock and unlock it. Maybe you need oil. It's generally good.

Pros
  • So far satisfied
Cons
  • boring packaging

Economical Choice - Door Hardware & Locks

Looks like a solid lock. Once you understand this, it takes about half an hour to the door. My first door took two hours because I didn't realize that lock position was important before installing it. There are no instructions for this part.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Update Available

Choice of similar Kwikset or Schlage

Two cabinet handles broke in our 20 year old home (a Schlage, a Kwikset - both with plastic internals that broke in the same place). chose this brand because. it's all metal (except for one tiny component). installed quickly and easily. buy a second one because this one works so well. looks good and fits in the same holes as the previous ones. it doesn't hurt that it was cheaper.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Suitable for use in small living spaces

These locks are an old Weslock design. It's identical. Several other companies have put their names on the padlock with the same design. After I bought them, I found that Menards had the same ones for about $3 less per log. Titan brand. They have exposed screws to secure the locks through a hole in the door. Getting started and moving in was always difficult for me. But that's how most residential locks are these days, unless you get the more expensive kind. Since 1975 I have installed…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember
