Ideal for drilling holes in your media cabinet, except for.

What can I say? I need to drill holes for cable management in a media cabinet. (You know, they have holes that come out from the back but not between the different shelves and sections.) This worked really well, but I'd like to mention two things to note: First, you can buy shovels with small cutting edges, that expand from outside points, and they make cleaner holes when drilling through vinyl-coated chipboard. OTO, they are more expensive. Just make sure you drill a pilot hole, drill part of…

Pros
  • Reinforced, heat treated shaft to resist bending and breaking
Cons
  • Slightly dented

drills a clean, recessed hole for a screw

I had to countersink some screw heads in wood (5/16" screws). No standard trowel will drill a clean countersunk hole for something like a bolt anymore. All are very aggressive and tear the tree to shreds. I think this is the only bit on the market that still makes a clean recessed hole. It doesn't have those flared endpoints (whatever) that all other bits have that pierce the outside edges of the hole and further maim the wood as it cuts. Just the opposite. This bit has pointed edges as you can

Pros
  • 1/4" shank with ball groove allows for quick bit changes
Cons
  • piggy bank price

High quality, durable bit

Bought this shovel to get electrical wiring from the garage to the house after the piping was done. I ran 12-2 NMB through 3/4" PVC and used it to run PVC pipe into the house (not sure about the "code" but it seems obvious that the wire isn't exposed to the elements , if you run all ) the PVC through ) into the house ) It went through the siding just fine and the darn thick plywood that was on top of the outside basement joist works fine even at very low speed SAFETY NOTE: If you still have…

Pros
  • Optimized cutting groove for quick chip evacuation
Cons
  • Out of style
