GOOD PARTS. BAD PACKAGING.

These are good spade bits but the plastic bag they came in is junk. They arrived at my door in one of those bubble wrap envelopes and the first thing I noticed was that they all seemed to jingle freely. In fact, the sharp ends of the cut bits threw off the plastic storage box and rendered it unusable. There was a day when DeWalt gave you an actual carrying case when you bought a tool, and cordless tools actually came with a battery! Kind of sad. All this corporate greed these days. Well…

Perfect fit for 12v drill

I'm a retired electrician. I have many different cordless drills for different purposes. The mighty will weigh anything but a ton compared to the small. Normally I worked 12 hours a day. Trust me, 1/2, 1 or 2 pounds makes a difference at the end of the day. The 12 volt Milwaukee (bulletproof) that I use 85% of the time isn't powerful enough to drive a 3/4 inch blade. (my most common size) with a threaded tip. These bits have a sharp drill-like point rather than a screw-in point and feel like…

Cons
  • Ugly packaging

It's a decent set of bits, but they jam the chuck.

They work well in my cordless drill with bit holder, but when I use my 3/8" electric keyless drill to get more power, they jam the chuck wide open and it's a bear . to get free. This happened 3 times in a row and after a lot of nasty words I gave up, opened the drill chuck and went with the bit holder...although the drill bit is a little wobbly. Since they don't work well with my drill press I will buy a shorter set for them. These aren't bad drills, and because I hate throwing things away…

Pros
  • Spade Bit
Cons
  • Long Lead Time
