This is a completely misleading advertisement!

The product information was wrong, the description says "fits all dewalt routers" but it doesn't, only fits some models. This is absolutely false advertising!

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

It is functional, although not very accurate.

Too many adjustment points with weak locking knobs. The plastic guide stop does not cut and swings and tilts accordingly. The adjusting screw is useless because there is too much play. The basic design is fine, but it looks like they're in such a rush to get to market that they haven't even thought it through. This is one of those devices that, as you know, the designers never really used in real life. It seems to work, but it's never "there".

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Expensive

Straight and clean but the part numbering system needs some work.

Well done and I have everything I need to get a smooth edge with minor correction from my router with clean results. The only criticism I have is the numbering of this paragraph. I originally bought the DNP618 thinking it would match my DW618 router because of the numbering. I then had to place a second order to get the correct edge guide. The factory produces good products but does not know how to number their products.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not sure

No quality control

The guide comes with two sets of rods to allow for different diameters and rod spacing on DeWalt routers. Thicker rods could not enter the lead. They didn't check that at the factory. The brass screws holding the rods in the guide are not pulled back far enough to make room for the rods. Makes the manual unusable. Chinese workers understand quality control in China as the ideal condition in which the product leaves the workplace. This is from my brother in law who worked on Microsoft builds in…

Pros
  • Everything OK!
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Poor quality control

This must be a product with precise workmanship. At first glance, I saw that the two sides of the guide didn't match. I laid the ruler across and the guides ended at a pronounced point when they met in the middle. I removed the plastic guides and made sure the steel itself wasn't level on either side. I didn't have time to send it back so I spent a good hour fixing it with a vise, blocks of wood and a hammer. I leveled everything but the stamped steel didn't impress me. I would never recommend…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged

Edge guide good value for money

I have a Dewalt 618 router and a Palm 611. Works with both although the manual doesn't mention 611 611 use it as a guide for the edges. This gave good direct results. I wish the rods included in the kit were longer so I could dig the dado deeper into the work piece. The large vacuum port limits the distance that the router can be installed to just a few inches from the stop, even when the rods are barely at the base of the router. Must buy longer sticks for placement. As for the "fine tune"…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Doubtful

Mediocre quality power tool parts and accessories

I bought this edge guide and a Dewalt 618 plunge router set at the same time. I have an older Black and Decker Elu 3338 Plunge Router Guide but didn't know if it would fit on a 618. The good news is that my older, much better made edge guide fits a 618. The good news is that this current offering from Black and Deck/Dewalt is very disappointing. The entire body of my old rail is aluminum and is very strong. The body of this leading edge is made of stamped sheet metal, except for the depth…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Crumpled

The fine adjustment claim is totally misleading

The fine adjustment claim in the product description is wrong. Of course, the adjustment knob can be turned inwards or outwards. And it's pretty stable when blocking. BUT the 0-9 markings on the button are meaningless, and the embossed increments (black on black with no contrast whatsoever) on the metal body are so hard to see or read as to be utterly useless. I have been doing fine woodworking to very tight tolerances for many years and this is NOT suitable for "fine tuning". Dewalt should…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No instructions

Customization is simply fantastic! Then I turn the knob one turn.

I hesitated to buy this fence until finally I found a review mentioning my particular router. Answers to questions are scattered all over the map, and some of them are completely wrong. So I'm writing this to hopefully clear up the confusion for others. This is an overview of the DeWALT DW6913 parallel fence. The item arrived on time and well packaged. The router is aligned with the guide block by means of an attached guide mounted on a plunge base. Previously, all fence adjustments were by eye

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not the best
