Not Working: Diagnostic, Test & Measurement Tools

I've tried my best but this item still doesn't appear in my Bluetooth list. I've tried this on multiple machines and multiple phones.

Stops working after a few uses

Used with no problem until it stops working. I had to use it maybe 4 times before it just turned red and refused to communicate with the car.

Does what it's supposed to do

Works great. Had the same for over 5 years and it was lost. I received it very quickly, plugged it in and connected my Android app to it with no problem. Reads codes and clears them.

Sends my Cruze for transmission errors when plugged in

I tried wiring it to my car twice and both times it came on with the check engine light, trac stability light and my dashboards. to zero, locking the transmission in an emergency 2nd gear. The machine is fine if it is not connected to the network. I won't be using this, I've had other scanners that I've lost that never did this to my machine.

Cannot connect: tools and equipment

My car is 1999 and this elm327 is clearly OBD compliant but it will NOT connect to the car's ECU. This is the second order of the same product. Both have not connected. I tried it on 2 other much newer vehicles and it didn't connect. I went to Best Buy to see if there was a problem with my phone. No problems found. My neighbor tried to connect to his phone but couldn't. He has a similar device in his car and reads quite well. I guess I'm just unlucky that I got two bad ones. Oh, and when you…
