Pros: Pre-punched holes on outer lid help a lot. And the inner layer of plaster is thin enough to break through. I didn't have to sharpen my crochet hook. I didn't prick myself. The plastic is so thin and the inner lining tries to create a hole to pull the hair through the plastic to make the hole bigger. I threw away the package. The one I had was used over and over again. It has a dense plastic with a good inner lining. The ones I ordered look exactly the same in the picture but other than that they are really useless. What a time consuming project to create the holes and finish the color trim.

The fit of these caps is very different from many other types I have used. I have thick hair so I was glad I put the first one on and didn't have to pull the strands too hard. I use it to accentuate my daughter's hair at home. If you're new to these caps, you'll need to get used to how to slide the hook through to pull out hair without hurting yourself or the hair of others you're bleaching. It's not the cap's fault, it's just a learning curve. Although they work great. Of course, a salon would be the best bet for something like this, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to save some money and get through quarantine without looking like a troll.

Always use them at work. There is extra plastic on the back that can be lowered to cover the guest while applying the product. I use this to take out and cover the product before putting on the processing cap, works amazing. The holes provided are plentiful, but I sometimes make my own along the seams to avoid awkward lines on shorter hair.

These hats are cheaper when you buy 12 here than individually at Sally's. I also discovered something. I've always had a problem threading the hook through the plastic lining in the lid. I decided to cut out this plastic and just use the outer layer which already has holes in it. Wow what a difference in hair pulling and not a drop of difference in the end result. I've been using them for many years. I would like to do this for a long time. :-)

This product will only work if you remove the inner plastic. Trying to puncture it hurts because the inner plastic is flexible and doesn't tear easily. I screwed up the first hat by trying to use it as is, it was very frustrating. Trying to use the metal hook was difficult because you can't just walk in and hurt your head. The only thing I really liked was the longer plastic in the back for long hair. No, this cap is actually worse than the one with the highlight kits. It offers no areas to highlight, and caps and kits hurt. Halfway through the process I took it off and said nothing more.
