I used other snaps that didn't work. This worked very well. Including a hole for the button (I used a leather punch), it took less than a minute to attach each button. I have small hands, 3 inches in the palm and had no problem with the pliers. I really liked the adjustable setter. Use some of the latches that came with the pliers to test the adjustment before I start canvasing the boat.

I got this to attach a boat cover and it worked great, it also worked on a pool cover and my son's backpack. This is a durable tool that makes snapping easier, much easier than the old hammer and flat surface etc method. You can use it without removing the cap or whatever else you need to fasten. I bought this to install latches in my new boat trunk. SS latches were included when the lid arrived, so naturally I wanted to use those rather than the cheap latches that come with the tool. Well, this tool works great with the cheap fasteners that come with it, but it doesn't even come close to installing an SS fastener. The whole experience of attaching fasteners and fabric was awful. This tool came with a small box of T8 latch patterns and they worked great with the tool. The additional bindings associated with this Revain tool were not T8s and could not be used. They will be sent back just like this "heavy tool". I had to leave Revain to buy T8 shots.
