As noted by others it will not charge flat or dead batteries

I bought this charger 2.5 years ago. I like the relatively convenient way of storing cables. However, on two occasions the charge on one of my cars was around 4 volts. When I plugged it into the charger it went through a LONG process where it showed "battery analysis" and then said it was charging at 6 volts. It wasn't sure if the battery was 12 volts. The battery was completely discharged several times, the charger reported "Attach 0 volt clamps". Either way I always take my OLD El Cheapo base

Pros
  • Jump starter
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

Works as expected, clamps could be better

This diehard charger is an upgrade of my 40 year old 10 amp Viking which still works well after rewiring. When it arrived I used it to charge my four car batteries, which are 1 to 4 years old, some of which sit for a week or two at a time and are typically driven short distances. (I read the instructions carefully beforehand.) The charger fully charged each battery within 2-8 hours and then went into service mode. The lowest starting point was 50%. I tried using the Boost feature to see how itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Tools and hardware
Cons
  • Good but not great

So far so good - jump starters

Good: + Relatively small. I wanted the charger to fit in the top compartment of my toolbox in a more convenient form factor. I didn't like the idea of putting it in a drawer or leaving it on a shelf. I store my chemicals/liquids and this works great for my 61" Husky. + So simple that my wife or child can use it without worry. I've seen people prepping batteries with those old manual chargers. It seems like all chargers are automatic these days, but I feel like the buttons and choices are pretty

Pros
  • Jump starters, chargers and portable power supplies
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
