Type of review

Purchased to install can lights in plaster with a stone lathe mount. The lathe eats saws fast, but this thing cuts through like butter attached to an 18-volt cordless drill. I bought a cheap rubber basketball, cut it in half, drilled a hole in it and put it between a hole saw and drill bit to collect dust and it worked like magic.

Remgrit 4 " Hole Saw with Recessed Light

The purpose of my purchase was to drill through a ceiling of cement battens with wire mesh. This is due to the cutting of the grid. The board cut well but it took a long time to get through the plank. Even though 4-3/8 is the standard size for 4" recessed lights, it fits better. My personal advice is for drywall, use a 4-1/4" bimetal or carbide otherwise use for a combination of rack and wire mesh a 4-1/4" diamond hole saw. They're pricey at $60 and up, but they work well and stay sharp for…

Best Buy Tool

Good in short; This tool was a life saver when I needed to install an outdoor light fixture on a very old stucco house. For reference; This is a 1930's Spanish style home in Southern California. So it's old school, thick, thick stucco concrete laid by hand on a steel mesh lathe. Not the textured sprays you use these days. This material is incredibly hard and overlaid in a very thick layer.
