Bought for my granddaughter. She saved it so we can work on it together. The bear was a lot smaller than I thought. There wasn't enough yarn in the pack to make different parts of the bear, I tied the loops twice to make sure I wasn't. How cheap not to add about 12 inches of extra yarn in a different color. Not worth the money. Good idea if done right.

The good thing is that this booklet comes with a booklet that has all the stitches and you don't need to buy all the materials to start crocheting. But the black yarn is terrible for a beginner, the stitches are much harder to see and the yarn is very stiff and difficult to work with compared to other yarns I've bought since. The needle also broke when trying to thread the thread through the yarn when finishing.

I've always wanted to learn to crochet and this kit finally taught me how to crochet! It has absolutely everything you need to start and complete a project. It took me about 3 hours to complete this work and one of those 3 hours was spent learning how to crochet in rounds (I tried to untangle the chain twice before finally getting the hang of it). I'm a complete beginner and was able to learn it in half a day. I think this is a great gift for those who can do something and like to learn…
