I have used a commuter ebike that works great but the bike came with a 14-28T freewheel. However, rowing at 20-22 mph was too fast for me to use effectively in pedelec mode. Excellent idle. My smallest gear had 14 teeth. This one has 11. Surprisingly, the gear ratio changed so much that I was able to go 1-2 miles faster. I have a 7 speed electric bike with a small 300w motor. A little help is enough. I live in Florida where everything is smooth. I'm also 6 feet and 190 pounds.
