Perfect replacement

Let's be honest, yeah? This bow is PVC, it's plastic, it's the right shape and dimensions for the application and is a perfect replacement for the one we removed. Will it last as long as the original we removed? We hope so, but the original lasted about 14 years? It's a great replacement for the app and vehicle we needed it for. Dorman products have been amazing over the years and have saved real money as opposed to buying replacement parts from the manufacturer which are most likely just…

Fits Jeep 4.0L with CCV (Non-PCV) - Front Rocker Cover

This elbow is for the FRONT of Jeep 4.0L with CCV (Non-PCV) engine. I have a 2000 Cherokee 4.0L. This engine is CCV, not PCV. The rear low flow manifold and the front high flow manifold are the FRONT MANIFOLD leading to the intake box. A small flow is sucked in from the intake manifold. It is very important that these two parameters are correct, otherwise you may end up getting too much pressure or diverting a lot of flow into the manifold and air intake. See the attached picture for a better…

Fit 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ

I destroyed the original knees and gaskets while replacing the cylinder head and cleaning the engine compartment. The original 19 year old bushings had hardened and did not allow the original knees to be removed without breaking them. For a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ I had to redo the valve elbows and bushings to completely rebuild the valve cover: Quantity 2: Dorman HELP! 42344 PCV valve sleeve for front and back of valve cover. Lot 1: Dorman 47079 HELP! PCV elbow (this product page) for FRONT of…

NOT the part you need for a '97 Jeep XJ Cherokee.

Cannot speak for other years or models but I can confirm this is NOT the part you need to replace the front crank from the valve cover to the piece of plastic that goes to the airbox in the Jeep Cherokee ( XJ ) '97 with a 4.0 liter engine. You want a piece with a wide opening and a SHORT elbow so it DOES NOT hit the bottom of the hood. This part from Dorman 47079 rubs on the hood so I was uncomfortable fearing it would break if I slammed the hood too hard or that a vacuum might leak due to an…

Finally Fix That Damn Oil Leak

Stop This Jeep From Blowing Oil - Replace That Crankshaft. You can see the oil is around the valve cover. This little gadget and its companion bushing (Dorman HELP! 42344 PCV Valve Grommet) is a headache for the Jeep Wrangler. Or at least a 2003 4L Wrangler. The valve cover is a little tricky to take off, but just take a razor blade and gently slit the old bushing or you'll cut off most of your finger. You can then use your superhuman strength to carefully pull the elbow out because if it…
