Insufficient force on this solenoid. 97 Ford F150 4x4

Didn't work when installed which led to a lot of additional troubleshooting only to find that when activated this part did not have enough pulling power to close the vacuum for the 4x4 drive open as some other reviewers have pointed out. The other could only intermittently work with an open source of vacuum. Bad quality control. I have an OEM Motorcraft solenoid valve and it worked fine.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Vacuum Tee Remanufactured OEM Part

I had no problems with my original vacuum valve but I rebuilt the truck and replaced everything that was updated due to technical errors. This is the same valve as the original, only now it has a plastic protection against the water surrounding it. Makes installation a little more difficult but prevents water from entering the vacuum system and prevents the front hubs from coming out prematurely due to water ingress.

Pros
  • Handy Item
Cons
  • Interval

Fixed noise in my 2013

I bought this to replace the solenoid in my 2013 Platinum. I had to remove the solenoid from the black plastic piece (which is to be expected as they say this block doesn't fit my year) but then it was a direct replacement. Now the IWE noise is gone! For the past two winters I've been driving my IWEs, which make noise when it's cold outside, and cornering in my truck. I already replaced the check valve, but it turned out that the problem was precisely in it.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Has issues

Reliability questionable

I bought this in place of the original magnet on my 2005 expedition to prevent water getting into the 4WD vacuum line hubs. The bouncer's first solenoid valve did not work at all and was replaced free of charge. The second failed after 1 month. Not sure what's wrong but very disappointing. I actually replaced the system with the original solenoid and the 4x4 system is working again. I have verified that the system holds a vacuum and is working properly when the solenoid is fine.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Excellent quality and value.

Purchased as part of a complete front suspension rebuild on my 2007 FX4, including a full IWE system. I didn't have any problems with it, but I've already driven a hundred thousand kilometers and winter is coming. I'm sure the original Ford Motor Company magnet was severely watered down and will probably fail soon, the new one is much better with a rain cover and I don't expect any problems. I didn't want to deal with any problems if they suddenly failed so I replaced everything including the…

Consider replacing this part with Motorcraft.

Dorman have been around for a long time so I didn't hesitate to buy from them. As many other reviewers have mentioned. I bought two of these. The first one I replaced lasted about a day. Of course, since I had two, I threw away the first one and found a microcrack near one of the vacuum line nipples. The second one I installed took about 3 days. I tested the solenoid with a vacuum and found it to be intermittent. I ended up ordering one of the dealers down the street and replacing it with a…

Pros
  • Great price

  • Big and bulky

If you haven't already replaced this, do so before your hub drives fail.

Replaced after reading how the original vacuum solenoids let water from the windshield into the vacuum lines which then got into the IVR (hub drives) and spoiled them. My original hub drives fell apart when I took them off. If you received it like the picture, you may need to move the vacuum solenoid to the other side of the case. I have a 2005 F-150 and didn't have enough slack in the vacuum lines to keep it on the side it was originally on. This is very easy. The easiest way to install is to…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power

Two out of two didn't work!

Bought it from Revain, installed it, drove around the block and loved it. But then I thought it's worth checking again - I connected a vacuum gauge to the outlet and you know what? It didn't turn on or off when I flipped the 2WD/AWD switch. He never let the vacuum flow. I checked the voltage and turned the voltage on and off correctly, but the vacuum never got through. The only way to leak vacuum was to disconnect the vacuum line, then apply power, then reconnect the vacuum line in that order…
