Perfect for 2000 Chevy Malibu

Perfect for 2000 Chevy Malibu. The original was too foggy to see the water level and the threads on the cap were so worn that putting on and taking off the cap was a chore. Still holding up great. I managed to swap out the old one for the new one before my wife got back from her errand.

Matches perfectly with coolant rebuild kits

Matches perfectly and easily with my 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. The replacement took a few minutes and it is very clear unlike my old one. As others have said they tend to leak at the upper minor seams. I bought this waterproof epoxy and had my old one repaired and it has been working for 6 years now and no longer dripping. I just wanted a new clean one for a while so I got this one. I'll edit this in a few months and let you know if this new one is leaking or not.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other kits

I would not recommend purchasing this coolant reservoir. There were two main problems. The first issue is the gasket in the lid that comes with the kit. The seal kept breaking. The second problem is that the coolant flies out of the pipe. The second problem was not caused by the first. I replaced the cap with another one, but coolant continued to leak from the tube. After replacing that tank with another one with a different type of cap and no hose, I had no more problems.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • thin

Overall I'm happy with it

I bought this part for a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am, first I want to say how much I appreciate the quick delivery, it arrived earlier than expected. Delivery date. It was also very easy to replace the old one! For a bit of backstory, the cap threads on the old reservoir were stripped off so it wouldn't hold the pressure in the reservoir, which would cause my car to overheat. But after installing a new tank my car started again! We'll see how good the durability is, although after reading some of the

quality piece! I've saved myself money on repairs :)

My mechanic charged me a little over $300 to install a new coolant reservoir. I decided to make it myself and I am very happy with it! I saved about $270 and it took less than 20 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. This is a great example of why it's a good idea to do it yourself! Remove 3 hoses and a nut and voila! (I used a manual transfer pump to bleed the coolant from the tank before removing the main hose so I didn't spill coolant everywhere. It's not a big deal anyway…

Dorman and Revane endorse their products!

I bought this Revain coolant reservoir and have been using it for eleven months when the low coolant warning light went on and off intermittently (the reservoir was always full). After checking the connector and ringing through the wiring, I determined it must be a sensor in the tank. I called Dorman's customer service department; described the situation to them, said the tank needed replacing and as it was being sold through Revain they would be in touch with them and arrange for either a…

UPDATE: September 2017: This part cracked and leaked after only 2.5 years under pressure. When the original OEM lasted 14 years. Maybe it's an accident and I need a replacement urgently, so I ordered the same one again. I really hope that this time it lasts longer than 2.5 years. If so I'll raise the stars back to 5. First review: Looks exactly like the original ACDelco it replaced. Although the picture showed a tube and cap, I wasn't expecting them. I was happy that it comes with a tube and…

Pros
  • Best

  • Lots of stuff

Decided to replace the old coolant reservoir on my '99 Alero. My daughter uses it for collages. I always read on ebay and such that OEM is so cool. But in this case the OEM isn't very good because you can't see the antifreeze in the tank because it's very yellowed and has dirt in it. This tank comes with a level gauge and a small overflow hose. It's well made and I looked at the hose connections and they have a metal grommet just like the original tank. It's much easier to see the antifreeze…
