Poor quality is best in replacement parts

If you are thinking of this Exhaust Manifold/Converter please think again. The set is terrible. I had to change a few mounting screws to make it work. Also, it doesn't come with new exhaust bolts/nuts, so you'll need to buy some of those. Save time and money and buy another brand that isn't badly formed or machined. Jim

Stay away, spend your money on a better brand

I read some reviews and saw that they were a bit dated so I decided to try this distributor. WHAT MISTAKE! Firstly it is pictured with all the screws/bolts/nuts needed for installation right? INCORRECT! It was short 2 bolts for the heat shield, no studs or nuts for the flange and I had to modify the factory brackets to get the header to the block. I removed the old one in less than an hour and spent over 3 hours trying to get it back. The wire for the oxygen sensor is also now taut as it is…

Not the best, but not the worst either.

This product is "OK". I think it's a bit of a stretch to consider this article "just about right". I say this because some of the holes don't line up with the screws. Also, new exhaust flange bolts are not included for attachment to the exhaust pipe. I think the idea is to reuse the ones you have, but I've found this to be almost impossible to remove. Luckily, O'Reillys sells replacement parts for about $6.50. Another thing to note is that your factory converter has three "sections" of heat…

I bought a kit to replace a defective catalytic converter in our 2004 Toyota Camry ES with an I4 engine. The interchangeable elbow perfectly fits each end of the exhaust pipe; However, the old heat shield had to be modified slightly in order to properly attach to it. Generally I had to drill a new hole in the heat shield. The only other issue I had was that the replacement 'kit' didn't come with new cleats and the old ones were unusable. I called Dorman direct and they apologized and quickly…

Proper fit isn't number one on their list

Where to start, lets start with the first image of idle engineers really talking about proper fit and function and the hassle free fit and durability of the part confirm. The shields I could attach were lined up so I had to drill or widen holes in the heat shields to mount the exhaust manifold. The large heat shield above that you see in the photo, I had to omit the screw because the bracket was about an inch shorter and way too angled to attempt to mount the screw. You better have a threaded…

OH YEAH! THIS SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY 2 HOURS INSTALLATION

Okay, so. THIS IS A PERFECT FIT FOR MY 2004 CAMRY 2.4L VVTI XLE - except for the bottom bracket screws. It was a great deal! I bought this little lady for $150! The kit included everything shown in the picture except for the connecting bolts for the pipes. Just use some slotted locks and a rag wrapped around those two bolts and some PB Blaster. BLAM! $5 at Walmart or more expensive at Autozone and you can reuse the same 2 screws in a new block to connect to your next manifold! IT CAN BE DONE…
