Good product for the price

Good product for the price. My only complaint is that the tab that was supposed to lock it in the latch assembly wasn't wide enough to lock it. I was able to heat the clamp up a bit and flex it more to get it to engage properly.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not the best

Easier than I thought to install on a supercar

Worked well on my 2004 Ford f150 supercar. YouTube videos showed them removing the door latch. I removed the door panel, unplugged and unplugged the drive, and immediately reinstalled the new one. Did it in ten minutes even though they advertised it as an hour.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Doubtful

Fits but not OEM

Fits well, not as well as the OEM I used on another door but fits fairly well. Time will tell if it lasts long. After all, this is a Dorman that isn't exactly known for being a bastion of quality on many of its parts. I decided to roll the dice and save some money compared to the other side where I used the Motorcraft OEM module. This repair was done on a Mercedes Montego 05 so the job only took about 20 minutes.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Functionality

Looks like a great replacement part.

It took just under an hour to install this in the driver's side back door of my 2007 F150 SuperCrew using a YouTube video. I'm not sure I would have fully figured out how to do this without the video, but once I did the part fit perfectly and worked great for a couple of weeks. Hopefully it will last longer than an OEM that hasn't driven 90,000 miles. If not, at least it was only twenty dollars!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Contact Seller

Poor quality product from Dorman (UPDATE: no longer working)

The plastic retaining clip is not properly molded so the actuator will not engage the door latch. I would return it but after disassembling the door panel in the rain I didn't feel like repeating the process. Zippers are used to solve the problem of inferior Dorman products. Don't waste your money or more importantly your time! UPDATE: After just one year, the drive stopped working completely. While these actuators are not expensive, they are not worth changing every year.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Minor issues
