🚪 Dorman 77178 Black Interior Door Handle - Enhanced for Ford Models Review

Forget the plastic version of 77178. I bought and installed it but it bent when I tried to open the door. He eventually collapsed from pulling hard on it while trying to open the door. Later I got the metal version 77178M and it worked great. It didn't bend and fit better on my 1992 Ford F150.

I broke it up just like the original when I got the truck. So I think it's just as good as the original grip, but since I received the axle with the grip already broken, I have no reason to compare. I ended up buying the metal and also fixed the door panel interference issue that made you pull hard on it. I didn't feel like I was pulling that hard though, but maybe I was.

Easy replacement in about 15 minutes for a 1994-1996 Ford Bronco1. The inner door panel screws were removed using a #22 Phillips screwdriver. Marked the screws where they came from as there were several screws of different sizes.3. Lift the panel off the door just enough to allow access to a screw holding the door handle in place.4. Removed the broken remains of the old handle and replaced it with a new one.5. Door panel re-glued.

Overall good product and value for money. I'm just not sure how long it will last as this is the second plastic pen I've bought, but this is Dorman's first. Installation was easy. I was able to replace the broken handle without even removing the interior panel from the driver's door. I was able to use a 3/8 ratchet with a quarter inch extension to get at the bolt.
