Dorman 800 082 Fuel Line Fitting Review

None of my local auto parts stores had this in stock and it took a week to get a special order. Works great on my 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Allowed me to run a 3/8" fuel line from normal pressure to a standard solid fuel line.

AMAZON was late in shipping this item and we needed it urgently. Not happy but couldn't do anything about it. Did what had to be done. The lines prevented Chevrolet from leaking gas. They are not available in dealerships without purchasing the entire kit, which is much more expensive. Saved us a lot of money. Glad it was available on Amazon.

These are lifesavers when installing a custom fuel system with a 3/8" fuel pump quick disconnect or if you have damaged the plastic fuel line. I replaced the plastic line piece with an EFI fuel hose that clamped twice to the steel line and added this fitting on the other end to connect to the fuel pump. You'll never have to worry about it again.

These fittings will save you time and money when you need to repair your plastic fuel hose or your fittings get damaged. It's far better to have the right installation tool to install new plastic hose fittings, but if you're patient and take your time, you can install them by hand as well. Just search the internet for information on how to install plastic fuel line fittings and you will find a manual installation process. These connectors work great but fully connecting the nylon fuel line can be a lot of work. Heat gun but be careful not to overheat it too hot or the nylon cord will bubble, about 400 degrees is right. Move the heat gun around the entire diameter of the pipe. Once flexible enough, slide the hose over the Dorman fuel line fitting. Perhaps place the connector on a hard surface like a table first. If it doesn't go through the 3rd rib on the connector, heat it up a little more, keep it as straight…
