LEDs don't match or dim

This switch is great but the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the backlight is LED. It might sound nice, but they don't dim or don't match all the other lights in the truck. Otherwise it works fine

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Issue Fixed - Switch

My Tahoe said I had a trance bug. After studying what was going on, I decided that this switch had failed. Replaced it with this one and the problem was gone. I have to agree with others that LED lights are much brighter and are actually annoying at night with the lights on.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Vulgarity

If your "things " don't stay in four (on the dash), replace them first.

Especially the 1998 Suburban LT with 4-wheel automatic transmission. The switch is needed to hold the transfer cases in place, otherwise they will flip back and forth. Switch is the captain, so to speak. If you feel the 2-Hi mode going into 4-Auto, replace it first.

Try this before you buy an actuator

This item solved my problem of not being able to select 4x4. I thought it was a drivetrain issue with my high mileage 1999 Yukon OBS. The switch was much cheaper to start with. I didn't really think the switch would solve the problem as all the lights and buttons seemed to work. But it happened! The fit and finish is the same as the OEM.

  • Sturdy construction

2000 Cadillac Escalade 4WD switch

It took less than 5 minutes to replace this switch. It was perfect to solve the problem I was having. Neither light came on between 2WD and 4WD so I had to listen closely to hear the change. After replacing this switch all the lights work fine and the switch was worth it. Don't go to the dealer or mechanic, you can fix it at home in less than 5 minutes for free.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Modern

Fits exactly. 10 minutes to install.

No disadvantages. Easy installation, same dimensions as the old switch, perfect fit. The dash trim kit meant I had to remove the dash from mine and it took me no more than 10 minutes to get the job done even with this fault - on a regular GMT400 I expect the job to be completed can five minutes. Fit and finish is the same as the factory part except the Dorman gauges are slightly brighter and the switch illumination is "whiter". generated by the factory switch.

Pros
  • As far as satisfied
Cons
  • Suitable

You may need to reinforce the solder joints.

I have purchased this exact product from Revain several times to repair my 'SERVICE 4WD' bulb. New selectors solve the problem in just two days or in a whole year. Saw on GM message boards that the solder points in the selector need to be hardened if the part is expected to work properly. I re-soldered all five blocks I've collected over time and they all work perfectly now. Too bad it was necessary. Most normal people don't have time to play Inspector Gadget. But the process is easy and worth…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Good but not great

Good switch but LED light doesn't dim

Pros: Form, fit and function are premium. The switch has a solid feel and looks like an OEM switch. Cons: Appearance is not entirely correct. The texture of the plastic is standard and does not match the dashboard. The fonts are similar but not the same as the OEM switch. The biggest problem is that they switched to LEDs for the backlight. Normally that would be great, but unless the rest of the car is cracked, the color temperature of that switch is very wrong. Also, the LEDs dim out of…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet
