🚘 Dorman 912-055 Hood Release Cable: A Reliable and Convenient Solution for Easy Car Hood Access Review

Fits my 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. I only had to replace the plastic handle to pass the MOT, but they had to do a full replacement which takes a lot more time and labor.

Cable sticks after 4 months. When you pull the handle to open the hood, the inner metal liner pops out and the cable doesn't move. After trying to get the cord/earbud back into the plastic case, the handle eventually fell off the mount.

Received the cable on time which was good as that was broken in the car. It took some time and three people to install, but the quality of the cable is better than the original cable.

this product arrived in a timely manner but when I was looking for 04 Saturn Vue this was the product that fitted. I haven't checked, maybe I should have. BUT! when it arrived not only does it not fit my car it is broken making it useless on both sides of me, very disappointed

I didn't find much of the installation than expected other than installing the shell on the hood latch itself. The hole was 3/8" but the cable was 10mm. In the absence of a 10mm socket, I bricked the hole with 3/8" until I could attach the cable. After reading other comments about capturing the line, I dripped oil from one end until it ran out the other. Then I let it hang for a day so the excess can drain off. I hope this prolongs his life.
