got a job fits spares

Perfect for my 2003 Ford F150 4.2L 2WD. The original is shorted. Difficult to install as the installation location is under the dash but the item fitted perfectly and worked as described. Great price and good work.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works well after small modifications

Believe it or not, this old design had a practical flaw. It has 3 resistances, low, medium high. The lowest usually stays active throughout the machine's runtime, but also generates the most heat and remains red hot while the machine is running. After cutting off the higher resistance for the low fan speed, things got a lot better.

Pros
  • Doping 🔥
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Worked great in the Mercury Mariner in 2006.

Worked great in my 2006 Mercury Mariner (Ford Escape Twin). The fan stopped working and all the symptoms on the internet indicated that this part needed to be replaced. Getting physically to where it was in the car was a little tricky but the part itself worked perfectly and since we bought it a few years ago I'm happy to report that it continues to work perfectly. Research and DIY saved me from an unnecessary foray into mechanics.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works perfectly. 2003 Ford F-150 Super Crew

Works great! At the same time I replaced this part and the fan motor. I diagnosed the fan motor as defective but decided to replace both parts because: low cost, one can affect the other and the convenience of replacing both parts at the same time. The fan motor is not "easy to replace” but not "difficult” either. You'll have to rotate the case and access a few hefty screws to replace the fan. This part is easier to replace than the fan.

Pros
  • Sea of Positive Emotions
Cons
  • Easy Maintainability

Ford designed it so that one of the two set screws could be in one very tight area. It was also an odd sized socket so make sure you have a 1/4" SAE socket with a small ratchet handy. There is definitely no room for a 3/8" ratchet. With the right tools it takes 3-4 minutes. There was a slight burning smell coming from the vents, but it went away after a day or two and everything works fine. Easy to fix. Thanks Dorman.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons

Fits perfectly. on Motors

I installed this on a 2002 Ford F-150 Sport Edition. It fit and worked perfectly. For your information. It's under the glove box (not inside). Just below the glove box is a small cover with 3 screws. Then you will see a multicolored wire harness, remove the wire harness from the block. Unscrew 2 screws and pull out the old block. and reinstall the new one. The hole on the top right (bottom left as shown) is for an alignment pin to ensure you position the device correctly. The whole thing took…

Test this product and each product of this type before installing

Mine was DOA, my fault was not checking that resistor with my meter before installing it, anyway the resistor was bad so my fan is still hanging high. I ended up buying another one from Revain (I chose the cheaper one), got it fast this time, I tested it with a meter first, it checked fine, I installed it and now I have the fan speed control again. electronic parts after installation, and if they are bad, you usually can't return them, and because this part is very difficult to install, I…

The fan works again.

I don't know how much a Ford dealer will charge for something like this but after a quick search on other websites before deciding to buy from Revain I can say that the price from Revain (according to at least the time of purchase) was the same (if not lower) than on other sites. Installation was fairly easy, although it did require a bit of body movement to be able to remove the old fan motor resistor and install the new one. But after installing it worked fine - all speeds work as they…

  • Good product for the price
