This Dorman switch was defective. It took me a few months to get it back out and put the AC Delco in, so I was ready to return it.

My 4WD would not start until we replaced my old transfer case switch with this 49315 Dorman. Now it works like clockwork. I feel safe on our snowy and broken roads. Ordered because my front diff would snap incorrectly at times. Removed the old switch and found the ball was stuck. Surprisingly found a simple fix. A few weeks later I pop the hood and find that all of my vacuum hoses are swollen. I took one off and found it was covered in oil. The switch leaked through the diaphragm and the vacuum sucked gear oil out of the transfer case. I'm sure some people have had better luck making the switch, but not in my case.
